Bernadette Weinberg was recently presented with a UCSB Staff Service pin to commemorate reaching the 10-year service milestone. Originally hired in June 1995 as an Assistant I in Human Resources, Bernadette quickly moved up the academic staff ladder. She became an Assistant III in 1998, an Analyst I in 2002, an Analyst II in 2004, and she is currently the Academic Personnel and Financial Analyst for the Department. Bernadette implements academic personnel policies regarding faculty and student matters, and she is responsible for the organization and delegation of tasks to the front office staff to ensure maximum efficiency and to serve the varied needs of a growing, productive department that is currently ranked number four in the nation by the National Research Council.
And, by the way, Bernadette did get more than a pin—the Department also sprang for a chocolate cake and a surprise presentation ceremony hosted by Keith Clarke.
