Professor Alan Murray Elected Fellow of the Regional Science Association International

Regional Science Association International (RSAI) was founded in 1954 and now has an international membership of over 4,000 people. RSAI is a community of scholars interested in national and global processes of economic and social change with a strong foundation of quantitative methods. “[R]egional science is at the cutting edge of research into new model design for regional analysis and impact assessment”

Professor Murray joins Professor Reginald Golledge (2009) and Professor Richard Church (2009) as UCSB faculty to receive this prestigious recognition

“RSAI fellows are distinguished scholars with a proven and recognized research record in the field of regional science during a considerable part of their scientific career. Such honored members of the RSAI are appointed after a careful nomination and selection procedure, based on a broad consultation of the RSAI membership …The RSAI fellowship is a world-wide sign of scientific recognition that is bestowed on a regional scientist with outstanding research credentials in his/her field.”

The below picture shows Professor Murray receiving the plaque from RSAI President Budy Resosudarmo recognizing his election as Fellow at the recent North American Regional Science Association meeting in San Antonio, Texas, November 7-10, 2018.
