Mo Lovegreen, who has been an Assistant Dean at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, became the Geography Department’s second “MSO” (“Managing Staff Officer,” the top staff person in the Department). Meryl Wieder, who has been the Department’s only MSO, and who has worked for UCSB for 36 years, just retired. Chosen from among several strong candidates, Mo began working parttime January 5, while she phases out of the Bren School (a graduate school at UCSB).
