Matt Rice Wins CaGIS Award


The Cartographic and Geographic Information Society (CaGIS) awarded UCSB Graduate student Matt Rice a $1000 scholarship to participate in the 2003 ESRI User’s Conference in San Diego, California, July 7-11, 2003, and to serve as a CaGIS student ambassador at the conference. The competitive travel award was awarded to Matt based on his academic record, participation in CaGIS meetings and publishing activities, and his statement of career goals. CaGIS is a member organization of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM), which has coordinated professional surveying and mapping activities in the United States since 1941.
