Julie Dillemuth Awarded NSF Graduate Research Fellowship


Graduate student Julie Dillemuth has been selected to receive a 2005 Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation. This 3 year award of stipend and tuition/fees allowance is “made to outstanding graduate students who demonstrate the potential to become knowledge experts and who can contribute significantly to research, teaching, and innovations in science and engineering.”The topic of Julie’s research is cartographic generalization for mobile map display, with a focus on how people use and interact with maps on handheld mobile devices such as PDAs and cellphones.
