The annual Department of Geography Excellence in Teaching award is given to graduate students who have an outstanding teaching track record, and the 2005/2006 award goes to Kirk Goldsberry (right) and Michael Robinson (left). Apart from making satisfactory progress towards their degrees, this award is given to grads who have received outstanding course evaluations as TAs and/or instructors, who have received outstanding written comments from students and outstanding evaluations of their TA work by the course instructor, and who have demonstrated outstanding design of course or lab syllabi and/or lab or session activities. Guess you could say that Kirk and Michael are, well, “outstanding”!
