Fall Newsletter Sent to Alumni and Friends

The Fall Newsletter has been printed and will be mailed to approximately 2000 alumni and friends of the Department this week. Many thanks to everyone who contributed to our Newsletter, especially Natalie Wong for her terrific layout and graphics, Dan Oh for providing our donor information, Katie Maynard for her advice regarding the recyclable paper we use, Jose Saleta for his meticulous proofreading, and Mo Lovegreen for her diplomatic nagging—which is the only reason the Newspaper went out on time!

P.S. The whimsical mailbox was photographed by Susan Baumgart, our former Senior Artist, photographer, and web master (1998 to 2005). Susan took delight in finding and photographing “unusual” mail boxes in Santa Barbara, and she began the department’s tradition of using those photos as placeholders on our bulletin board picture galleries – particularly for faculty, students, and staff who were camera shy.
