June 6, 2003, the Department held the annual Spring barbecue at Goleta Beach. The theme was Hawaii. There were hula and limbo contests. Grad student Alex Keuper built the wooden sticks and bar for the limbo. The chief barbecuer was – – as usual, and thank you very much – – Prof. Dan Montello. Among the charred offerings was an “Hawaiian” pork. Staff members worked hard to coordinate the party. All comers contributed to the beverage fund and brought side dishes to share.
