Geography staff are electrified by current events – Christian Brown, a long time colleague, has returned to Geography to take over the Purchasing/Travel Coordinator position vacated by Deanna Cervantes last December. Christian worked for many years as Program Coordinator and Staff Assistant for NCGIA and CSISS, and, in July 2006, he shocked the Department by deciding to strike out on his own as an apprenticed electrician.
Christian’s return provides the spark needed to reactivate our administrative circuits – there’s quite a backlog of work since Deanna’s outage, and Christian has both the experience and the skills to bring us back on line soon. As an Administrative Assistant, he will be in charge of purchasing, expediting travel, petty cash, recharges, shipping/receiving, equipment inventory, copier codes/service, mail distribution, and staff support for the Ocean Physics Laboratory. Welcome back and onward, Christian!
