Professor Oliver Chadwick recently donated $10,000 to the Department of Geography to establish The Oliver Chadwick Soil Science Scholarship Fund. Dr. Chadwick was our 9th Chair; he served from July 2006-September 2009 when Professor Dar Roberts took over.
Dar speaks for all of us in his thank you letter to Oliver and Max Chadwick:
I want to thank you for making such a generous donation of $10,000 to establish the Oliver Chadwick Soil Science Scholarship Fund. I have always been impressed by the high quality education and training Oliver has provided for our students in the area of soil science. As we as a society explore better ways to create a sustainable future, improved knowledge of soil forming processes and better training in quantitative soil analysis is crucial. I am sure that this donation will go a long way towards ensuring continued excellence in soil science education in our Department.
