Andy Ballantine Paper Wins Award

For the Fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), held in San Francisco December 8-12, 2003, graduate student Andy Ballantine submitted a paper titled “Identifying Dust Sources in North Africa and Modeling Patterns of Dust.” The Biogeosciences section
of AGU responded by giving him an Outstanding Student Paper Award. He learned of this by email February 2, 2004. He will receive a certificate and a mention in the AGU’s publication EOS.

The Fall AGU meeting is the largest meeting of the year. It involves about 10,000 attendees. The AGU is composed of more than a dozen sections, each of which has several parallel sessions at any given time during the week.
