Consuelo Rivera officially joined Geography staff as our new undergraduate advisor on July 13, 2015. As a way of introducing herself, she sent the following statement:
“I was born in the city of Los Angeles and have one younger brother. I grew up in Pico Rivera, CA which is about 11 miles away from Downtown LA. I earned my BA in Psychology from UCLA in 2013 and my MA in Guidance and Counseling from Loyola Marymount University in 2015. I previously worked at UCLA as a student worker and as a research assistant. Subsequently, I worked as a Graduate Assistant at Loyola Marymount University and afterwards as a Career Guidance Counseling Assistant at Los Angeles City College. I love hiking, binge watching shows on Netflix, and eating. I am very excited to work with the students, staff, and faculty of the Geography Department this year. Feel free to stop by my office (1831 Ellison Hall) to ask a question or just to say hello. I love hearing feedback so please let me know what I can do to make this year run smoothly. I look forward to meeting you soon!”
