James Lipton’s delightful collection of collective nouns, An Exaltation of Larks, refers to “an angst of dissertations” in his academic section, and I’m sure that our PhD candidates know why. All the more reason to congratulate the following Geography grad students for successfully completing their PhDs in the past academic year:
Karen Kline, Winter 2005, “A Quantitative Analysis of the Users of Global Environmental Data Sets.” | Charles Dietzel, Spring 2005, “From Parameters to Scenarios: Using the Behavior of Cellular Automata to Create New Futures.” | Greg Husak, Spring 2005, “Methods for the Statistical Evaluation of African Precipitation.” |
