Waldo Tobler GIScience Prize of the Austrian Academy of Sciences
Award for scientific advancement in the disciplines of Geoinformatics and/or Geographic Information Science. The prize recognizes the work of UCSB Geography Emeritus Professor Waldo Tobler, who introduced innovative methods based on digital technologies into geographic research beginning in the 1960s that emphasized theory, mathematical modeling and dynamic visualization.
Nomination letters for the 2017 Waldo Tobler GIScience Prize should be sent to application@oeaw.ac.at no later than September 30, 2016.
