UC Santa Barbara Geography Professor Keith Clarke kicked off the History of Art and Architecture’s Digital Image Lab Series with a mapmaking workshop. Professor Clarke showed how digital programs have made it easier to create and access maps and how the internet has made it possible for anyone, even those without a background in geography, to map almost anything. Professor Clarke also explained how digital cartography or mapmaking now also includes a degree of expected interactivity, which he demonstrated with the interactive map of UC Santa Barbara.
